  MANU

Most tourists come to Cusco in search of Peru's Inca heritage, but the ancient capital of the Incas is also the gateway to the most pristine tropical forests in South America. The Manu National Park is widely considered the most biodiverse ecosystem in the world, with over 1000 species of birds, 13 species of monkeys, 1200 species of butterfly and 15,000 different flowering plants, as well as rare and endangered mammals such as the jaguar and the giant river otter. Manu covers an area of 19,000 square km, ranging from the twilit, mist-enshrouded cloud forest at over 3000 m above sea level to the teeming lowland forests of the Amazon basin. Tours to Manu leave from Cusco and last from four to nine days. Transport is by overland truck along a spectacular road linking the Andes with the Amazon, or by light aircraft from Cusco's airport.

Manu Paradise Cloud Forest Lodge

The Lodge
Our eco-lodge is located in the heart of the cloud forest, 6 hours by road from Cusco and one hour from the rural airstrip at Pilcopata. Our unique location enables us to offer a variety of special programs in and around this beautiful zone.

The lodge is situated in a truly privileged location - between the Kosnipata and San Pedro Rivers - giving us a magnificent view of this green paradise.

The perpetual humidity of the rainforest makes it a unique place for observing an amazing diversity of fauna and flora such as the famous cock-of-the-rock,the spectacled bear, monkeys, a variety of butterflies, giant ferns, and a tremendous number of bromeliads and many species of orchids. With the lodge as a base it is possible to participate in a variety of activities, such as mountain biking, canoeing in tropical rivers and experiencing local culture by visiting the indigenous community of Huacaria.

Manu Paradise Cloud Forest Lodge offers comfortable accommodation: rooms have panoramic windows and private bathrooms with hot water and there is a dining room and bar with a fireplace. The porches are equipped with telescopes for observing wildlife over the nearby Kosnipata River
