This trek allows you to enjoy of the beautifullness of the Sacred Valley, but also of seeing beautiful archaeological sites. The Inca canal, the Cachicata quarry ares just two of the places. You will get nice view to the Urubamba range along the way. After a charming trek, you will visit Machu Picchu the last day.

Day 1: Cusco - Huarocondo - Socma - Perolniyoc

We will pick you up from your hotel and journey to the community of Huarocondo (30 minutes far from Cusco). We will visit the beautiful colonial church of the place. After a short visit, we will descend to Socma village (3000m), where we will start our trek at a point up to the archaeological site of Perolniyoc. Then, we will visit this beautiful place located above a waterfall. From there, we will enjoy our trekking up to the small community of the same name. We will camp there.


Meals: Lunch, dinner

Day 2: Perolniyoc Inca Canal

We will start this fascinating day walking up to the first pass at 4,500 m. After getting the pass, we will go down to the beautiful Mama Cona lagoon. Again, we will climb until we reach the mountain pass where there is an ancient Inca canal (17km long), that is considered as an important engineer achievement. This canal still transports water to the Cachicata quarry. From this point, we will be able to admire the Urubamba and Vilcabamba mountain ranges.

Day 3: Inca Canyon - Cachicata - Aguas calientes

This day, we will visit the inca canyon, the intiwatana archaeological complex. there, you will see an altar that was built facing veronica mountain (5.682m). you will have time to take pictures of the awesome view of the sacred valley and the urubamba river.


After enjoying of the scenery, we will walk to the inca quarry of cachicata. we will hear the explanation of our guide about how the incas cut and carry the huge stones used in the building of archaeological site of ollantaytambo.

along the way down to the sacred valley, we will pass by the inca cemetery, which was considered as the place where the inca quarry workers lived.


We will arrive to ollantaytambo in order to board the train to aguas calientes

Day 4: Machu Picchu - Cusco

Our guide will pick you up from your hotel to take one of the first shuttle buses up to the ruins of Machu Picchu. The ride is approximately 25 minutes. We will enjoy of our guided tour for around 2.5 hours. After that, we will have plenty of free time to walk around the Inca citadel

We will return to Cusco by train

Although, we mainly offer private treks we can start groups with at least two travellers!

  • Private bus, outbound and return
  • Private bus: Cusco to Huarocondo.
  • English speaking tour guide
  • Trekking services, including: camp cook, porters and camp assistant(s). We will carry 8 kg per person (including the sleeping bag)
  • All group camping equipment, double tents and Thermarest mattresses, kitchen and/or dining tent, and toilet tent
  • Food: hot breakfast, lunch, and dinner as described in the itinerary (all the trash produced during the trek will be returned to Cusco)
