Day 1: Cusco / Paradise Lodge

You will be picked up from your hotel in Cusco to begin the drive through typical Andean scenery composed of high plains and fertile valleys. Arriving at the village of Paucartambo, with its whitewashed adobe houses and narrow streets, there will be time to visit the local church and walk across and photograph the elegant colonial-era Carlos V Bridge. Leaving this quiet village, we will drive up to Acjanaco Pass (12,630 ft / 3,850 m), the entrance to Manu National Park, from where the road descends into the cloud forest.
