The Bird Watchers Paradise program is specially designed for those wanting to observe the enormous variety of bird species that inhabit this remarkable ecosystem. Manu is a dream destination for birding enthusiasts. One of the most representative bird species is the cock-of-the-rock, and it is also possible to observe several species of parrots and macaws during this program, as we visit a clay lick. The trip includes hiking, boat trips and cloud forest lodge accommodation.
You will be picked up from your hotel in Cusco to begin the drive through typical Andean scenery composed of high plains and fertile valleys. Arriving at the village of Paucartambo, with its whitewashed adobe houses and narrow streets, there will be time to visit the local church and walk across and photograph the elegant colonial-era Carlos V Bridge. Leaving this quiet village, we will drive up to Acjanaco Pass (12,630 ft / 3,850 m), the entrance to Manu National Park, from where the road descends into the cloud forest. This is the habitat of the emblematic cock-of-the-rock and hundreds of other bird species. This fascinating journey ends with our arrival at the Paradise Lodge (4,821 ft / 1470 m).

This unforgettable display is composed of mixed species flocks including green and red macaws and blue-headed parrots. After this superb experience, we will return to our lodge for a good breakfast. The rest of the morning will be spent hiking in the forest in search of local species of fauna and flora. After lunch at our lodge we will take to the river in our motorized canoe, as far as Atalaya, from where we will return to the lodge in our bus.
