Coast, Highlands and Rainforest

This journey will take you from the Pacific Coast to the high Andes and, via Pisco and Ica, through the land of the Inca’s to the Amazon forest. This journey features culture, archaeological and historical attractions, as well as Peru’s natural riches in the shape of the maritime Paracas National Reserve, the Machu Picchu Historical Sanctuary and the Tambopata National Reserve. The wide variety of visits is possible since Peru is one of the five most biodiverse countries on earth, with 84 of the 117 life-zones known to men existing within its borders.

If short on time we also offer a 12 day / 11 night Andes to Amazon and a 14 day / 13 night Cusco, Manu & Machu Picchu program.


Arrival in Lima

Upon arrival at the airport one of our guides will be waiting for you to bring you to your hotel for the overnight stay in Lima.


Transfer from Lima to Pisco; afternoon visit to the Paracas National Reserve

Afer having arrived in Pisco and settled into our hotel we will visit the Paracas National Reserve. The reserve is particularly famous for its birdlife and its marine fauna. The birds nest in colonies numbering thousands of individuals and the many species observed include pelicans, gulls, Humboldt penguins and Chilean flamingoes. The Andean condor also comes down to the coast occasionally.


Visit to the Ballestas Islands and local farmers near Ica

Today we will have a morning excursion to the Ballestas Islands, nicknamed “the Peruvian Galapagos” with it’s impressive wildlife; We will navigate around the islands and observe the abundant bird and marine life there, including seals basking on the rocks or swimming around our boat, and species like the Humboldt penguin. In the afternoon we will drive (one hour) south to Ica where we will visit local farmers.


Full-day visit to local farmers, wine and Pisco producers

Today we will, after breakfast, visit the countryside and learn about Peru’s national drink: Pisco when visiting local farmers and their wineries.

Today we will visit more local farmers, including cotton growers and other producers in the region of Pisco.


Nasca Lines

Today we will leave early to go to the Ica airfield where we will have our pre-flight briefing and afterwards fly over the famous  Nasca Lines, providing a stunning view. Afterwards we will have a five hour return drive to Lima where we will have an overnight stay.


Arrival in Lima

Today we will go to the Lima airport for our flight to Cusco. After having arrived and being settled in our hotel we will have an afternoon walking tour of the historic city.


Sacsayhuaman and Pisac ruins

Today we will have a morning visit to the Sacsayhuaman Archaeological Park. Afterwards we will travel to Pisac to visit to Pisac Inca ruins in the Sacred Valley of the Inca’s.


Visit local farmers

Today we will spend the day with local farmers, including a visit to the Huambutio plant nursery.

We will spend the day with local farmers, including the potato-growing community of Amaru, known for the hundreds of different varieties of potatoes they cultivate


Visit Moray and Ollantaytambo


We will leave early morning for an excursion to the Inca agricultural experimental station at Moray and the Inca settlement and temple ruins of Ollantaytambo in the Sacred Valley of the Inca’s.


Visit local farmers

Today, the day will be spent with visiting local farmers who grow corn and other Andean crops.


Full-day visit to Machu Picchu by train

Today we will take the train from Cusco to the town of Aguas Calientes, the town located at the foot of Machu Picchu. From there we will depart on our hike to the famous lost city of the Inca’s and have a guided tour before wondering around on our own.


Visit to Machu Picchu and return to Cusco

You will have the morning free to explore the ruins of Machu Picchu and afterwards we take the afternoon train back to Cusco.


Free day in Cusco

Note: We also offer stays of from 5 days to 3 weeks in the rural Andean community of Paucartambo, with accommodation in a local hacienda in shared double and triple rooms with shared bathroom facilities.


Travel to the Tambopata National Reserve

We will fly to Puerto Maldonado and be transferred by river to our rainforest lodge; where after settling in our rooms we will have a short introductory walk in the rainforest.


Full-day excursion to lake Condenado

Today we will spend our time at lake Condenado, a local lake teeming with wildlife.


A visit to local farmers

Today we will go on a full-day visit to local farmers, including tropical fruit plantations and other local products.


Return to Lima

Early morning we will be transferred by boat to the local airport of Puerto Maldonado for our return flight to Lima. In the afternoon we will have a city tour of Lima and visit to the Gold Museum. Afterwards you will go to the airport for your return flight to your country of origin or continue your holiday by yourself.
