Machu Picchu

This one-day tour of Machu Picchu, in the company of an experienced guide, enables visitors to learn more about the history and architecture of this enigmatic site located at 2490 m.a.s.l. amid lush cloud forest filled with tropical flora and fauna. Machu Picchu is composed of temples, palaces, residential buildings and a large, central main square. The site also includes extensive agricultural terracing. It is believed to have been the residence of the great Inca Pachacutec, and was built by him in the first half of the 15th century. Machu Picchu was declared a World Heritage Site in 1983, and in 2007 it was selected as one of the new Seven Wonders of the World.

If you are looking to extend your trip to Machu Picchu there are a variety of multi-day treks going there, like the famous Inca Trail (2 and 4 days) as well as the Salkantay and the Weavers trek to Machu Picchu.
